You are not intended by God who created you to fit into a mold of human expectations. Take it from someone who has been there, done that, and turned down owning a t-shirt as proof.
I spent much of my formative years wishing I was different, wishing others would like me for me and not trying to make me into someone I didn't want to be. Don't get me wrong, I love my story, but I never really fit the mold of what others expected of me. There had to be a moment of awakening in my soul, where I laid down that nagging need to fit in and walk boldly as the person I was created to be.
I love who I am, but I didn't always. In fact, I suppressed my personality to the point where I didn't even like me. Then something happened, and Jesus showed me how much he loved me, in all of my awkward, and I was changed. He, in his loving nature, diligently created me uniquely, wonderfully, entirely, with great purpose. My quirks are my strengths for it is where Christ shines through the most brightly.
God designed my quirks. How cool is that? The things that people disliked the most about my personality, once given to Jesus, became my greatest testimony and tool to show God's goodness.
I am not perfect, but in him, I am perfected.
God loves you just the way you are, so love yourself. What makes you unique is designed by the Father who adores you. Don't suppress or hide his creation, but let it shine in all of its quirky glory and splendor.
