If God has given you a public word filled with promise and blessing, prepare yourself for judgment, questions, strange looks, laughter, and smart remarks. People question things they cannot understand. People will tell you because you are not experiencing the fulfillment of that word, God has forgotten about you - abandoned you even.
Don't get bogged down in the humanistic mindset plaguing us since the beginning of time. God never backs out of his word; it isn't part of his character. God does not intend for you to hang in the developmental process for all of eternity - the development stage is your proving ground, your desert land of preparation. Your current status is setting you up for God to elevate you. Your current situation is the setup for God's punctuation of the word he has been birthing within you.
If Noah dealt with the mockers while building the boat in preparation for the flood and if Daniel had to inhabit the same space as the lions don't you think that God will provide for you and protect you and deliver on his word to you? Moreover, if Jesus endured the desert for forty days and nights, why do you think you are any different? Proving grounds are essential for others to see God's faithfulness, vital for you to learn how to carry such a heavy load, necessary for God to show off how good he is to those who show their love and trust in him. Your current season of waiting is your time of proving; that God would develop your character and your credibility.
You may be walking through the darkest time in your life, but God's word to you is authentic, and he says "I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you (IS. 41:10)." Get ready. God is about to do what only he can do.
