When God gives rest, it does not mean a spiritual nap, but a fresh encounter with him in his presence to renew. That renewal comes when we break down our walls of our preconceived identity and even our previous understanding of God, to bring the God-sized dream of who we are into reality so that we can see him more clearly. A nap brings temporary tolerance of circumstances, but real rest brings refreshing and long-lasting endurance.
Real refreshing comes from putting in perspective how small your circumstances are in comparison to how big your God is, but that can only happen when you gain clarity to see your need.
I am learning how to rest in the Father, even when my life is crazy busy.
